These batteries are rated at 3 volts so that single
battery is sufficient for backup of CMOS/S-RAM memory.
For low drain use, these batteries can be used for an amazingly long period of over 5 years, providing a steady, discharging voltage. Manganese dioxide, which is chemically very stable, is used for the positive active material to assure a very long shelf life. With a yearly self-discharge rate of 1% or less, these batteries can be stored over 5 times longer than conventional batteries. The electrolyte used in these batteries is an organic electrolyte of low creep characteristics, which is different from the alkaline electrolyte used in other batteries. These batteries have an extremely high leakage resistant characteristic against fluctuating environmental conditions and are most suitable for use as a backup power source that must have long-term reliability. Being provided with terminal tab they can be directly soldered onto PC boards. | Characteristic | |
